  • Founder of Hua Dan: China’s first and only social enterprise that uses participatory theatre as a tool for the empowerment of migrant women and children
  • Young Global Leader of the World Economic Forum since 2011
  • Formed Scheherazade Consulting, which provides corporate training services on global leadership issues, with a particular focus on the emerging world.

  • Served as Reid Professor of Music at the University of Edinburgh
  • Winner of the Opera Prize of Radio Suisse Romande and Ville de Geneve, the Netherlands Gaudeamus Prize, and the Radcliffe Award
  • Prolific as a composer and for supporting global projects to use music and the creative arts to help disadvantaged children and those suffering from trauma as a result of war

  • 15 years of experience in the arts as an administrator and event planner.
  • Formerly Arts & Culture programmer at the World Economic Forum and Manager for the Global Agenda Council on the Role of the Arts in Society.
  • Passionate about cultural heritage law, the power of the arts in society and is driven by the need to foster international dialogue through cultural diplomacy.

  • An international strategic planning consultant, working across the cultural, development, heritage, urban planning and land management sectors
  • 30 years experience designing and delivering international cultural projects that aspire to effect permanent change in how we think about living together; that impact on local neighbourhoods and gathering places and that empower communities and individuals.
  • Honorary Research Fellow at UK’s University of Leeds School of Performance and Cultural Industries.
